Dave Vanselow, a.k.a. "Spidey", started sailing a century or so ago on his hometown lake in Springfield, Illinois.  He continues as a member of Island Bay Yacht Club "up north" where he served three years on the board there and brought his C&C "Wave" 26 down to Beaver Lake when he and his wife Susan built a home in Lost Bridge Village (five minutes from BLSC) in 2002.  You can ask him how he got the "Spidey" moniker....but bring an extra " brew for the crew" to Dock One.
Gaylon enjoys racing his green J-24 (Kermit).  His crew have proved to be formidable opponents in the 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007  racing season.
Jimmie “Fish Hawk” White has been racing with the club since the late ‘90’s, joined BLSC as an associate member and became a full member in late 2001. He is an active (obsessed) racer aboard the other J24... “Jaded”.... Run by his wife, Sue, “the Admiral”. Upon occasion they get to sneak off to the BVI or the Key’s for a bareboat charter.
In Sept. of ’05, Jimmie and Sue bought a log cabin, just a block past the club. Jimmie oversees the management of the cabin as a vacation rental. When it’s not rented Jimmie and Sue enjoy logging time there watching the deer and the eagles from the screened porch overlooking the cove.
The club’s resident spin doctor, Stew enjoys getting away from the hot air at the capitol in favor of the fair winds of Beaver Lake.  A regular around the camp fire & a devout cruiser, he does crew when we race around the barrels.  Just don’t be surprised when he’s at a Razorback game in the Fall!
Tom enjoys sailing his Laguna 30 and racing his Merit 25.  He shares his sailing dream with  his lovely wife Susan. They live in Elkins, Arkansas and enjoy taking trips to the Caribbean and bare boating.  Tom is also a member of the Beaver Lake Sail and Power Squadron.
Bruce retired to NW Arkansas in 2005 from Northport, NY, a small town on the north shore of Long Island.  While living there he raced a J/24 and a J/34c out of Northport Yacht Club.  He and his wife Susan, a native Arkansan, live in Fayetteville, are dedicated Razorback fans, and own the Catalina 27 Suee.  Bruce now chooses to race on other people’s boats while Sue relaxes with a book on Suee.  When Bruce is not at the lake, you can usually find him on the Stonebridge Meadows Golf Course in Fayetteville.
Mike has been a member of the Beaver Lake Sailing Club for over 5 years. My wife Robin and son Dominic love the sailing lifestyle. We started with a Catalina 22 and in 2003 we made a quantum leap to a Hunter 34. When I'm not sailing, I enjoy doing segmented bowl work on a wood lathe.  Our family enjoyed bare-boating the BVI in April of 2006, 2007, and we have plans to return in March of 2008
