Sailors,

This Saturday is the first of our four Arkansas Cup race days.  We will race a single longer distance race.   Skippers Meeting is at 12 and the race begins at noon.  If you haven’t raced with us before, or in the last few months, come on out and join the fun on what should be a mild but fun and challenging racing day.  Al boats welcome, the more the merrier.   Sailing Instructions attached, available on the web site and at the Skipper’s meeting.

NOAA predicts South wind at around 10 miles per hour.   Chance of rain is now around 30%, down from an earlier 40% predicted, lets hope the chances continue to drop today and tomorrow.  We will race rain or shine, unless there is thunder or visible lightning.

We will score the race immediately after the race as well as draw for prizes.

Also, Don’t forget the Cup Uno Fiesta, which will commence around 6 pm.  Bring South of the border themed pot luck items to share.  The club will provide the main course.  Volunteers to help cook while the fleet is out would be appreciated.  There will also be a salsa/dip competition, so if you have a great dish that can be scooped up on a chip, bring it.  (I heard the grand prize might be made from the fermented juice of a blue agave plant)  Some details on the club website calendar, or Email Rich Harper <rlharpe@hotmail.com>  for more details.

The results of the Spring series are posted on the website. Congratulations to Jaded in the Spinnaker fleet and Arabella in the cruising fleet for taking the top spots in the series.
Special congratulations and thanks to each of the participants in every race, the 2013 racing season is off to a great start.

Mike Carron
2013 Vice Commodore
